OUR PROGRAMS
Four programs. One journey.
From first contact to lasting stability, our four programs walk alongside our unhoused neighbors — meeting them in shelters, at encampments, on the streets, and at the Outreach Center. Guided by Patient Compassion, Intentional Respect, Unconditional Love, and the inherent Dignity of every person we serve.
Our humanitarian services are offered without conditions of religion, sobriety, behavior, or background.
HOW WE WORK
Relationship→ Trust→ Help→ Follow Up.
Rooted in the conviction that true transformation begins with connection, we meet our neighbors where they are. The Philosophy of Mission describes the sequence in which our work unfolds. We begin in Relationship through presence, listening, and caring (John 13:34). We earn Trust through consistency and respect; once earned, trust allows the real obstacle to surface and a real path forward to be drawn. We offer Help as friends and navigators while our neighbor remains the driver of their own journey. And we commit to Follow Up — because the most powerful follow-up is integration: yesterday’s guest becomes today’s volunteer, tomorrow’s teammate, and a forever friend.

Mobile Shower
Dignity on Wheels (DOW)
Hot showers, hygiene supplies, and human connection — delivered where our neighbors already are. The Dignity on Wheels trailer travels to encampments, partner sites, and community locations across St. Louis, bringing privacy and warm water to people for whom both are scarce.
A shower is rarely just a shower. It’s the first time in days, sometimes weeks or months, that a person feels seen as a whole human being. That’s where relationship begins.
Community Fellowship
ComFe – Saturdays at the Outreach Center
Every Saturday from 8:30 AM to noon, the Outreach Center at 4265 Shaw becomes a living room. Neighbors arrive for hot meals, hygiene supplies, clothing, bus tickets, birth certificate, ID and — most importantly — the kind of unhurried welcome that’s hard to find anywhere else. Volunteers and guests share tables, conversation, and craft workshops. Many of today’s volunteers were yesterday’s guests.
ComFe is the front door of nearly everything else we do.
Open every Saturday except the last of the month, when our team is out and about in community with the Mobile Shower.

Winter Safe Haven
Cold-weather shelter when exposure turns life-threatening
When temperatures drop into life-threatening territory, Winter Safe Haven partners with St. Louis hotels to give our unhoused neighbors something simple and essential: a warm room, a real bed, and a door that locks. From November through March, we cover hotel guest-nights for individuals, families, and veterans who would otherwise face the cold.
In winter 2024–25, we provided 482 hotel guest-nights — including 26 families with 43 young children who deserved a season that wasn’t spent shivering.
Discipleship
Spiritual and pastoral care, walked alongside.
Many of our neighbors carry questions of meaning, faith, and belonging alongside their material needs. Discipleship is the program that takes those questions seriously — offering spiritual and pastoral care in three settings, all of them strictly voluntary.
Our humanitarian services — showers, meals, shelter — are never conditional on participation in any of the activities below. Anyone is welcome at our table; no one is asked to be present at our worship.
· SHELTER-BASED
Street Sanctuary
Our team gathers with neighbors on the shelter for an open, unconventional and conversational worship — meeting people in the places they sleep and inviting, never requiring, a moment of shared meaning.
· AT COMFE
Bible Exploration
During Community Fellowship hours, neighbors who wish to step into a brief reflection on Scripture can do so — while the Outreach Center continues to serve showers, supplies to anyone who prefers not to, and share a community meal together.
· PARTNER SHELTER
Bible Studies
A weekly small-group study held at a partner shelter, hosted in collaboration with shelter staff and open to any resident who chooses to attend.
Four programs run on people and dollars.
Volunteers are the spine of every Saturday at ComFe, every shower delivered, every motel night funded. Monthly donors are the reason we can promise a guest we’ll still be here next week.
