What is Dignity on Wheels?
Dignity on Wheels (DoW) is our latest initiative that exists to improve the health and well-being of unhoused people in St. Louis by providing hot mobile showers, comprehensive medical care, and connection to essential resources.
The need for Dignity on Wheels
Roughly 1500 of individuals are experiencing homelessness in our community, per the last census in 2023, with a 37% increase in 2024, Many lack access to basic hygiene facilities.

Fun Fact: The mobile shower operation features a trailer with four private stalls, each equipped with a shower, toilet, and sink. Towed by a truck, it travels throughout the city and county, delivering essential hygiene services to the unhoused. Self-sustaining with a water heater, air conditioning, and a generator, the trailer offers not just cleanliness but dignity, providing a safe, private space for people in need.

Once earned, Trust miraculously help pinpoint the problem and draft a pathway to solution.
With Dignity.
It is like the partnership between the driver and the navigator in a rally car. We are the navigator and our clients are the drivers. Our role is to meticulously share information with the driver to be well prepared in advance to negotiating the next obstacle on a route that might be totally unfamiliar to them, in the shortest possible time.
We make suggestions, encourage their efforts, counsel when needed as true friends, find and connect with resources.
Strengthen With Prayer.
It is the most critical phase that will determine the failure or the success of the process. We keep all our fiends very close to our hearts and in our prayers. We regularly check on them through phone calls, emails, text messages or in-person hangouts. The most effective way by far, to follow up with our former clients is integration to the team. They become an inspiration not only to others initiating the process, but to the inExcelsis team and volunteers as well.
