There’s a place for you at inExcelsis.
Volunteers run our programs. Monthly donors keep us showing up. There’s a way to be part of this ministry that fits your life.
three pathways – one mission
many roles – many days – one welcome
We need volunteers to:
clean shower stalls, wash towels and washcloths, prep and serve Saturday meals, lead Bible Exploration and Bible Study, run our Boutique and help guests shop, host guests at Winter Safe Haven (motel stays during the coldest winter nights).
Some of our work happens before tour Outreach Center doors open. There’s a role for your hands, hearts and hours.
clothing – bus tickets – hygiene items
Our volunteers provide many things to our guests before they say goodbye for the day. Deliver items to our Outreach Center during delivery hours or ship them from our Amazon wish list.
A monthly gift is the most powerful gift you can give.
Monthly donors are the reason we can promise our guests we’ll be there next week. Sustainers fund the constants: fuel for Dignity on Wheels (our mobile shower unit), towels and washcloths, toiletries, bus tickets, food and beverages, all items needed to prepare and serve food and beverages, stays for guests on the coldest winter nights (Winter Safe Haven) and the doors staying open at our Outreach Center. Please pick a level and join us.
acquires or replaces an ID or birth certificate
provides a hygiene kit and a month’s worth of bus passes
covers the cost of one winter motel night for a family
fuels our mobile shower unit for a community visit and Bibles on board
funds a full Saturday of operations at our Outreach Center
Or, you can give a one-time gift instead.
Your gifts may be tax deductible, as inExcelsis is an nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Our tax ID number is EIN 84-4181227.
many roles – many days – one welcome
From shower stalls to shelter activities to Saturday meals and experiences at our Outreach Center, our work runs on volunteers who bring whatever hours, hands and talents they can. Tell us about yourself and we’ll find a role for you.
what to bring – when to bring it
We accept donations at the Outreach Center on Saturday mornings. The following schedule tells you what’s accepted when and what we use most.

8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
We start earlier on the last Saturday of each month. That’s when our team departs for street outreach.

Our Amazon wish list updates weekly.
Items ship directly to the Outreach Center. Shipping from Amazon is most useful for the things we use up fast: hand warmers, socks and hygiene supplies.
Please don’t bring stained or torn clothing, half-empty bottles or expired food. We have limited storage space and cannot store these items. Nor can we distribute them. When in doubt please ask us first at serve@inexcelsislove.org.
Bring your colleagues, your church members, your friends and your students.
Whether you’re a corporation or company looking for a meaningful service day, a faith community wanting to walk this work alongside us or a school group ready to put compassion into action, we’ll help you plan it.
We offer a meaningful service day for your team.
We host corporate volunteer days at the Outreach Center. From hygiene-kit assembly to ComFe support, your team can make a big difference and walk away with a great story.
Walk this work with us.
Churches, ministries and faith groups are invited to walk with us through hosted events and prayer support. Many of our most committed sustainers come from faith communities.
We offer a service project with substance.
We host school groups, youth ministries and student volunteers. We provide age-appropriate roles and reflection time so your students leave with more than community service hours
